Consultant Systems Engineer; Automotive Electrical Power / Charging

Our client is advancing their platform of commercial electric vehicles with a newly established team focused on subsystems engineering in the areas of charging and electric power take off. We are seeking a talented and driven Systems Engineer to join this team, dedicated to defining concepts, setting requirements, and ensuring the successful verification of subsystems for cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.
Role Overview: In this role, you will be involved in the complete lifecycle of subsystems, from early concept development through requirement definition to successful verification. You will play a crucial role in leading cross-functional teams and balancing requirements across production, aftermarket, and customer needs. Strong networking skills and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and define concepts for subsystems related to charging and electric power take off.
- Set and manage requirements to ensure subsystems meet performance and quality standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful subsystem development and verification.
- Balance and integrate diverse stakeholder requirements, including production, aftermarket, and customer needs.
- Utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and drive innovation.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in systems design, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of electromobility products, systems, and components.
- Understanding of AUTOSAR and SAE J1939 CAN-based architectures.
- Experience with requirements management tools.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience in system engineering or product development with our client.
- Familiarity with system verification processes.
- Proficiency in System-FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
- Knowledge of Functional Safety (FuSA) and Cybersecurity.
- Experience with System Weaver requirement management tool.
- Technical knowledge of body builder applications.
