Consultant Software Developer
Seeking a Software Developer to join an Observability Enablement team, working closely within the Operational Intelligence Unit. The role involves helping consumers acquire missing capabilities, researching solutions, and suggesting observability tools, practices, and frameworks. The consultant will work autonomously, contributing to the development of best practices and supporting the tech community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bridge capability gaps by researching and suggesting observability tooling and practices
- Aggregate logs for cloud platforms, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
- Utilize Git and GitHub Copilot or other AI-driven tools to enhance development workflows
- Manage observability as a service using tools like Grafana Cloud or similar
- Document best practices, provide technical support, and foster the tech community
- Build and improve documentation, demos, scripts, and integrations in observability
- Gather feedback from developers to ensure offerings meet community needs
- Grow and nurture open-source community projects
- Communicate complex technical concepts related to observability
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in observability and monitoring
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Skilled in observability tools (e.g., Grafana Cloud)
- Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-driven tools
- Experience with event management products and cloud management at scale is a plus
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to synthesize complex technical concepts
- Passionate about evangelizing observability and supporting the developer community
